Collective Worship
We encourage you to discuss the themes we explore further with your child at home.
Here are some suggested questions and prayers you may wish to use.
This week
The clergy team have been leading a collective worship each morning exploring the Stations of the Cross.
Theme:
Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem
Facing the future with courage
Questions:
When have you had to be courageous?
What or who gave you strength at that time?
How did you cope under pressure?
Do you think trusting in God helps people who are facing uncertainty? Why or why not?
Challenge:
Make a list of three things you can do that help you when things are difficult.
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, that when life is scary, you are in control. Amen
Over the Holidays you might wish to explore
Themes:
The suffering and purpose of Jesus’ death
The effect of the resurrection on the first disciples
Questions:
What is good about Good Friday?
Why do you think Christians call the day they remember that Jesus died ‘Good Friday?’
What impact did Jesus’ resurrection have on the disciples?
Challenge:
Try to read a version of the Easter Story together as a family and think about how you would have felt if you were there.
Prayer:
Lord, we remember the sacrifice you made for us. May the promise of your spirit working in us fill our hearts and help us to share the love you revealed to us. Amen
